Females Who Made History In London

London is filled with women who have done wonderful things. We’re not talking about historical events. While there are plenty of women who did some very notable things in the far off past, we’re here to celebrate the ones who have recently made an impact on British society. These women are still doing good works and have helped shape the city into what it is today. We’re going to discuss some of the most influential ones here, and if you want to know more, just head over to this Female London Website for additional details.

Imtaz Khaliq

Imtaz Khaliq is a fashion designer who has worked with celebrities like Mishal Husain, Dina Carroll, and even Michele Pfeiffer. She has an MBE and is known for being one of the best designers and tailors in the city. The clothing that she has designed has been featured in Cosmopolitan magazine, on the BBC, and on Channel 4. She also teaches fashion design at the University of Westminster and gives plenty of speeches about design.

Kelly Anna

Art is another way in which London society has been shaped. Kelly Anna is one of the notable artists who has been doing this shaping. One of her most recent exhibitions, called SHE STOLE THE SHOW, was on display at The Book Club in Shoreditch. Her inspiration is the many proverbial “hats” that women wear these days as they have plenty of options and ways to plan out their lives. Some of the many topics displayed in this exhibition include channeling one’s inner strength and avoiding pressure and self-doubt. There’s an emphasis on the psychological impacts of life here.

Gabby Edlin

Sanitary products are one thing that many women in London don’t have proper access to. This is very wrong since these products are a necessity. Gabby Edlin set about changing this, thanks to her charity, Bloody Good Period. The charity holds a number of fundraisers in order to purchase menstrual supplies that are then donated to women who need them. Plus, the organization assists women who are refugees and asylum seekers.

Laura Bates

Laura Bates is a writer who focuses on body image and similar issues that plague women. She started her first website on the topic, called Everyday Sexism, and then began collecting stories from women who are either struggling with their body image or who have experienced sexual harassment in one form or another. This led to three books, called Everyday Sexism (named after the website), Girl Up, and Misogynation. Her goal is to help women of all ages who are struggling with their self-esteem and body image. Change is happening, one person at a time.

As you can see, these women are out to change London – and then the world – one step at a time. Whether it’s through fashion, art, charity, or the media, they are certainly making their mark. If you want to learn more about these women, just follow this link: Female London Website
